Total Lockdown Contemplated in Karnataka Post May 12?

The two-week partial lockdown allowed various sectors such as manufacturing, garments, production and the likes to function with 50% staff and vehicle movement, leading to no considerable difference in the present condition. Another cause adding up to the soaring numbers could be the mass migration of people to villages and remote areas.

The Cabinet met on Tuesday to discuss the outcome of the two-week curfew and plan possible measures to be implemented after May 12. As per expert suggestion, the Chief minister B S Yediyurappa is contemplating on implementing a total lockdown till May-end so that the crisis recedes across the state by mid-June.

With cases expected to start declining by this weekend, the Cabinet has decided to analyse the situation prevalent around May 10 and decide on the further course of action.
