On the night of Friday 11 June the Circle of Navbharath (Rashtrakavi Govind Pai Circle) was demolished.

Speaking on this topic, Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation stated the current circle was not scientifically constructed.
He replied, “The present circle was not scientifically constructed. The steady flow of traffic caused discomfort. The circle has now been destroyed.
“This is about to be a new circle. The name of the circle will not change,” he stated.
