In order to reduce coronavirus infections, the district is entirely sealed from June 14th-Monday 9 a.m to June 21 – Monday 9 a.m, with 17 gram panchayats of DK district. The announcement was made by the Deputy commissioner on sunday June 13. On the basis of a report by the chief executive officer of zilla panchayat the decision was made to close down panchayats with more than 50 Covid active cases.
The gram panchayats which will be in lockdown for the next one week are Konaje and Neermarga in Mangaluru, Naravi in Beltangady, Koyyur, Mithabagilu, Malady, Neria, Laila, Ujire, Charmadi, Ivarnadu in Sullia, Amara Mudkur, Kollamagaru, Guthigar, Aranthod, Subrahmanya in Kadaba taluk and Savanur.The movement of persons inside these gram panchayat has been limited by certain rules. Whereas Nursing homes, clinics, laboratories, telemedicine and blood banks, KMF milk booths, petrol bunks can stay operational. Vehicles for medical emergencies and other urgent requirements are allowed.The village teams will also work to supply essentials for the residents.
