The Chief Minister of Karnataka revealed an unlocking plan on Thursday, which kicks into 19 districts from 14 June, although 11 areas at the high rate of Covid 19 would stay under lockdown without compromise.
The chief Minister of the state stated that the state government has set aside a package of Rs.250 crore to Rs.300 crore for providing compensation to the families of earning members who died due to COVID-19. This is the first time such a decision has been passed in the entire country.
Such a decision has been taken in view of the fact that hundreds of families are badly affected due to the death of the earning member of the family. This has left many lives devastated. Taking the concern of the families into consideration the government has decided to give financial assistance to the families. This will be beneficial only to the BPL families. The minister said that there are about 25,000-30,000 such families in the state.
The minister added that the announcement of such financial benefits to the people clearly shows the economic strength of the government.
