The SSLC test rules have been finalized by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). According to the most recent criteria, a student who receives 90 to 100 marks receives an ‘A+’ grade, a student who receives 80-89 marks receives an ‘A’ grade, a student who receives 60-79 marks receives a ‘B’ grade, and a student who receives 35 to 59 marks receives a ‘C’ grade. The grades and marks earned by the pupils will be printed on the report cards.
In contrast to previous years, the SSLC exam will be administered on only two days this year. Students will write three topics on a combined question paper for 120 marks each day. One paper is made up of core topics (science, social science, and mathematics), and the second paper is made up of languages (first, second, and third). The exam will last three hours, from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., with a few days between the first and second examinations.
In particular, each topic will be worth 40 marks. These marks will be translated into 80 points per topic for assessment purposes. Internal assessment marks will be added, and the results will be tallied for a total of 625 marks. The examinations, as previously stated, will be objective with multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
The SSLC examinations are scheduled to be written by about 8,76,595 pupils from 14,927 schools (including 6,247 unaided schools). “Though there was a desire to conduct a school-level test, we decided against it since it would be impossible to transfer question papers and assure their safety,” an official stated. The number of exam centers will be quadrupled this year, from 3,000 to 6,000, with a maximum of 100 students per exam center and 12 students in each room, with only one student per desk. The specific dates have yet to be revealed. However, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education stated that the examinations will most likely be held in the third week of July.
