Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has announced that all stores in the district will be open until 2 p.m. from Wednesday, June 23. As many of the local shops were closed due to lockdown, many of the merchants suffered, considering these the decision was taken The CM also mentioned lowering the district’s Covid-19 positive rate. He has also requested that the chief secretary allow all stores to be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
He further stated that the district administration was in a difficult position. “We should put a halt to the public’s needless roaming. Everyone should get the vaccine. We should not break the Covid-19 rules, but rather maintain social distance and avoid public meetings. Because individuals were experiencing difficulties, the CM made this decision. “I have also requested that the deputy commissioner issue a formal order in this regard,” he added.
