The KSRTC busses started operation on June 23 till afternoon. The authorities had ensured that the number of passengers remained very low. The unlock restrictions for the first phase did not allow the private busses to operate while about 140 KSRTC busses ran in Mangalore, Puttur and Udupi.
The busses running the Dakshina Kannada district were operational till 1 pm while the busses running within different districts were operational the whole day. The first phase connected different talk headquarters through busses and 37 busses operated across Puttur, Dharmastala, Sullia and BC road. Ten busses left for the state capital on Wednesday night. There were busses that also left for Puttur, Hospet and Shivamoga as well. Puttur divisional manager told the media that depending on the number of passengers, the number of local busses running will also be increased. Ten additional busses will also be running.
