The Karnataka government had previously taken the decision to cancel the II PU examinations in view of the existing pandemic. It has been announced that students who retained the previous year will be awarded passing marks to ensure that they are passed.
The fresh candidates who will be promoted will have 45% marks taken from 10th and 10% marks from the 2nd pu. The results are expected to be announced before July 31.
The issue of fresh private candidates will be sorted out by conducting exams before August 31 and the results will be announced September 31st. A petition was put forward by some eminent personalities.
The petitioners claimed that the repeater students were being forced to write the examinations after the COVID-19 eases and the rest of the students were being promoted without examinations. It was stated to be discriminatory and thus the government has formulated new guidelines towards the examination of the repeaters.
