On Friday, heavy rainfall was witnessed in several areas of the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. There was a rise in rainfall in coastal regions. The rain continued to fall all night on Friday. Rainfall is inconsistent throughout the city. The rain was very heavy in the morning and later in the evening. Water had collected in a few spots, causing vehicles to have difficulty driving on the roadways. Rainfall was overflowing in Bantwal, Puttur, Kadaba, Beltangady, Sullia, Moodbidri, and the surrounding regions.
The meteorological authority has issued an orange alert for the mornings of July 10 and 12 due to the likelihood of rainfall ranging from 115 to 264 millimeters. A red alert has been issued for the next 24 hours, starting at 8.30 a.m. on July 12. During this time, over 205 mm of rain is expected. It has been forecast that there will be heavy winds and thunder. As a result of the above, district and taluk level officers, nodal officers assigned for the purpose, and members of local bodies should remain at their headquarters and be prepared to deal with unforeseen circumstances. People must take all precautions to avoid rivers, water bodies, and the sea, according to a statement from the deputy commissioner’s office.
