From July 30 onwards, the bridge is expected to be opened to light motor vehicle traffic. Under the advice and supervision of expert engineers from the public works department, the pillar that had become slightly slanted was recently returned to its original place. Under the supervision of experts, a test will be conducted on July 29 to determine whether the bridge is safe for vehicular traffic. As per PWD officials, if the test is successful, light vehicles, such as buses, would likely be allowed to cross the bridge. The decision to allow heavy vehicles to move has yet to be made.
on June 15, after one of the bridge’s supporting pillars abruptly shook. After a local witnessed the incident, the police were notified, and vehicles were prohibited from using the bridge. As a result, people heading to the airport, such as Bajpe, Kateel, and Adyapady, were compelled to take a detour. After being closed for approximately a month and a half, the bridge is expected to reopen.
