As none of the 51 passengers from Maharashtra and Kerala who arrived at Mangalore Central Railway Station and Mangalore Railway Junction on August 2nd night had an RT-PCR negative report, they were taken to the Town Hall, which had been converted into a temporary quarantine center. All passengers’ RT-PCR swabs were obtained and results were awaiting.
As per DCP. Women were permitted to return home and isolate themselves until the results were obtained. Men, on the other hand, were detained at the Town Hall’s temporary quarantine center. Those with negative findings will be permitted to go, while those with positive results will be sent to Covid Care Centers (CCC). In the coming days, passengers alighting at Mangalore railway stations will be subjected to a similar procedure. At the temporary quarantine center, police are allegedly detaining medical staff.
