The RT-PCR test has been exempted by the Karnataka government for arrivals from the UK, Europe and the US. The airports in the state will no longer require the test certificates. It was initially mandatory to have an RT-PCR test irrespective of the negative certificate issued by the individual.

Arrivals from the above mentioned countries can leave after showing the sample and need to get the test conducted. The additional chief secretary said that the revision has been made as per the recommendation of the technical advisory committee. Passengers coming from Brazil and South Africa will continue providing the sample along with the test results from the airport.
