According to a new statement from the country’s emergency management administration, people from India, Pakistan, and 13 other countries who are fully vaccinated with a shot certified by the World Health Organization will be able to return to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The new regulations will take effect on September 12, 2021. After a year of delays owing to the pandemic, Dubai, one of the UAE’s seven emirates, is set to launch the Expo 2020 world expo on October 1st. The event is expected to strengthen the economy of the area’s commercial and tourism centre.
The organisers earlier stated that any remaining UAE travel restrictions imposed to prevent coronavirus infections should be eliminated in time for Expo 2020. The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced on Twitter that permission from the UAE government is required to return, as well as the completion of certain PCR tests.
The UAE said a week ago that tourist visas for fully vaccinated travellers would be resumed. The move comes as the country’s daily number of positive cases continues to decline, having dropped below 1,000 since last week. After Malta, the vaccination rate approached 92 percent, the highest in the world.
