The Karnataka Chief Minister has introduced the very first green budget of the state to protect ecology and forest. He added that several forest officials have sacrificed their lives to protect the ecology.
The CM has mentioned that to give the mandate to the forest and environment department to make an annual note of the loss of our natural resources and the total deficit. He promised that the next budget will have provisions to fill the ecological deficit. The minister added that about 30 years ago the state had 30-40 percent of forest area while it has reduced to 21.5 percent at the present.
He also said that deforestation has increased in the last 20 years and we need to educate the younger generation about the importance of the conservation of forests and wildlife. He emphasized the importance of teaching the young generation to adopt a sustainable lifestyle based on their needs.
