On November 8, Hajabba to receive Padma Shri award

Harekala Hajabba, an educationist who was named as one of the ‘Padma Shri’ winners for 2020, has got an official invitation to accept the honor on November 8 in Delhi. On Wednesday, October 20, he received a formal invitation from the union home ministry by mail. Hajabba, an orange seller, started a revolution in education by using his money to build a school in his hometown of Harekala and contributing to its expansion year after year.

The Padma Shri award for Hajabba was announced on January 25, 2020, but the ceremony was canceled due to the Covid crisis. On November 7, Hajabba would depart for Delhi. Hajabba has earned several honors and accolades in recognition of his efforts, and he has spent all of the money he has received thus far on the expansion of the school.
