With the development of social media, many women, media organizations, and individual blogs began to address the problem, resulting in the acceptance of discussing menstruation and its complications. However, thanks to increased awareness and acceptance of the problem, these 7 companies (Swiggy, Zomato, Tata Steel, BYJU’S, GOZOOP, Culture Machine, FlyMyBiz) are changing that by providing paid period leave to their employees. India, on the other hand, is not the first country to propose providing period leave or time off to female employees.
In reality, in several nations such as Japan, South Korea, and Italy, women’s leave policies include menstruation leave. Women live in a world where discussing menstruation is frowned upon. Men and society fail to understand the severe anguish that girls are taught to keep hidden from the outer world during their periods.
