Under the ‘Help Educate’ program, the Karnataka Department of Collegiate and Technical Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infosys to provide training for students and faculty at state government colleges. The MoU was signed here on Wednesday by the Minister of Higher Education. Blended learning, he claimed, will assist roughly 5 lakh students and faculty members each year.
As per the minister, the MoU includes three components: providing access to Infosys Springboard (the company’s CSR arm), which has 4,900+ courses and 1.6 lakh learning resources, providing a faculty development program, and assisting the government in setting up digital infrastructure by donating 15,000 debonded computers.
As per the minister, Infosys Springboard is a Rs 35 crore digital platform aimed at combining different technology talents with life skills. The Rotary has offered assistance in transporting and installing computers to the specified colleges, as well as providing the operating system and essential applications.
