Following shortly after the Union government lowered petrol and diesel prices by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per liter, Karnataka’s Chief Minister announced that both fuel prices will be reduced by a further Rs 7. In Karnataka, the price of petrol is forecast to be Rs. 95.5 per liter and the price of diesel is expected to be Rs. 81.5 per liter.
The state government would lose Rs 2,100 crore in income as a result of this. The increased pricing, as per CM, will take effect on Thursday evening. The state and federal governments will provide this as a Deepawali gift.
A few weeks ago, the price of fuel and diesel surpassed Rs 100. The opposition Congress took up the matter and staged protests both inside and outside the Vidhana Soudha. During the parliamentary session, DK, the leader of the opposition and president of the KPCC, insulted the government by riding a bullock cart to Vidhana Soudha.
