VVS Laxman, veteran cricketer, and coach have praised Rajani Shetty of Mangalore for rushing to rescue animals in distress and even putting herself in dangerous positions to save animals in dangerous situations. Rajani also feeds hundreds of stray animals, including cats and dogs, daily. Her story was even published on the better India blog
Rajani Shetty, a domestic help from Mangalore, cooks food for hundreds of stray animals, and also climbs down wells like to rescue them. She has treated and nurtured several street dogs which were injured, helpless, and handicapped.

On Laxman’s Twitter account, he has posted a picture of Rajani and his admiration for her. “Rajani from Mangalore has been providing food to hundreds of street dogs every day. She also rushes to help the animals whose lives are in danger. When animals fall into wells, she jumps into the well and rescues the creatures. Three cheers for her dedication to the cause’’.
