As per the Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Karnataka led the country’s Covid immunization program by delivering a staggering 26.92 lakh doses until 9 p.m. on Friday. He stated that the southern state had outperformed Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, which had received over 26.62 lakh and 24.86 lakh pills, respectively. Huge gratitude to all of the medical personnel and other personnel who contributed to this historic immunization campaign.
Karnataka has made a remarkable effort to provide more dosages than Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, which have several times the population, he stated. This endeavor should fall on the Prime Minister’s birthday since he has led the battle on Covid from the front lines. Karnataka has already provided more than 5 crore Covid doses. The BBMP region (3.98 lakh doses), Belagavi (2.39 lakh doses), Dakshina Kannada (1.33 lakh doses), Ballari (1.33 lakh doses), Tumkuru (1.24 lakh doses), and Mandya (1.24 lakh doses) were the top districts (1.15 lakh doses). The districts of Bengaluru Urban, Shivamogga, Dharwad, Ramanagara, Hassana, Davanagere, Chikamagaluru, and Haveri accomplished more than 100% of the day’s targets.
With Friday’s performance, the total number of dosages delivered in September in the state has risen to 87 lakh. The minister stated that they are quite optimistic about exceeding the 1.5 crore target that we have set for September. Over 12,000 Covid immunization centers across the state participated in the vaccine push. Until 9 p.m. on September 17, Karnataka has delivered a total of 5.12 crore doses. By the end of November, we expect to have vaccinated the entire adult population of the state.
