The union Home Ministry has asked the states to extend the lockdown till June 30. Bars and liquor shops are also allowed to operate in this for an hour window. Milk booths and HOPCOM services will be available from 6AM to 6PM.
The lockdown enforced on May 10 was decided for two weeks which was later extended till June 7, 6AM. The home ministry has told the media that there will not be any changes in the lockdown restrictions till June 7 and the further extensions will be decided later by the Chief Minister. He explained that the intention of the government is to curb the spread of the pandemic and avoid people’s movement without any valid reasons.
Bommai said that the union ministry has requested the states to follow strict lockdown till June 30. They are expecting to bring down the positivity rate to below 10%. The centre has only asked to extend the lockdown however there has been no clarifications made on how it must be imposed. The final decision will be taken by the Chief Minister.
