The flight that will connect Mangaluru and Mysore started on friday, December 11, 2020. This is considered the first ever connecting flight from Mangalore which is a coastal city to Mysore. The flight is named Alliance Air which is completely owned by Air India and it had its first ever journey on Friday with 41 passengers travelling from Mangaluru.
The flight was inaugurated auspiciously through the lighting of the lamp by the CAO of Adani group and director of the airport, Airports Authority of India. The operation of the flight will henceforth be on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and the flight will depart from Mysore at 11:20am and will arrive at Mangalore within 1 hour and 10 minutes at 12:30pm. The flight is scheduled to depart from Magaluru at 12:55pm and will arrive at Mysuru at 1:55pm.
The new connectivity between the two cities is a source of happiness as it will connect the 65,000 people who belong to around 12,000 families in Mysuru to their counterparts in Mangaluru. It will also connect entrepreneurs who have businesses set up in the two cities.
