The Mangaluru City Corporation collected Rs 68,350 from 78 shops in breach of the Covid Regulations, through their multiple teams, on Tuesday 8 June. The authorities have also temporarily suspended 30 shops’ commercial licences until additional orders have been placed.

The MCC announced in a news statement that it is authorised to sell the basic goods between 6 AM and 10 AM, But the stores which are not permitted to operate their business have been seen to remain open.
‘Officials also noticed that people travel abnormally after 10 am during random inspections. In connection with 19 cases, they have levied a punishment of Rs 8,050. These persons were also strongly warned by the officials,” the MCC Commissioner said in a press statement.
