On Friday, the minister in charge of COVID-19 administration in Dakshina Kannada stated that over 88 percent of the district’s eligible inhabitants had received the first dosage of the vaccine, with 45 percent receiving the second dose as well. He told reporters here that vaccination protection was possible thanks to the collaboration of district-level authorities, health personnel, volunteer organizations, and other people’s representatives. The Minister stated that the administration aimed to vaccinate 17.15 lakh people in the area. The main dosage was given to 15,07,136 people, while the second dose was given to 8,05,349 people.
Moreover, the district government in Udupi floated 100 balloons on the grounds of the district health office to commemorate the nation’s administration of 100 crore vaccination doses. In his remarks on the occasion, the Zilla panchayat CEO praised all those participating in the effort to provide 100 crore doses. He stated that around 14 lakh vaccination doses have been delivered in the district. 9.15 lakh people had received the first dosage, while 4.9 lakh people had received all three doses.
As per health professionals, it is now time for all individuals who had the initial dosage to receive the second dose. He mentioned that if everyone is fully vaccinated, the pandemic’s possible third wave may be avoided. Current positions included Extra Deputy Commissioner, DHO, Vaccination Officer, District Surveillance Officer, and others.
