Dakshina Kannada district is among the Category I and can hence have further relaxation in the lockdown. The principal secretary of the government said that these relaxations were allowed as there was a declining trend in the test positivity rate.
The places under category I can run all the normal activities from 6am to 5pm. However the weekend curfew will continue to prevail in Dakshina Kannada.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the shops selling essentials like groceries, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, milk booths and health care facilities can operate from 6am to 2pm even on the weekend days.
The government order permits all the districts with TRP below 5% to operate all essential and non essential activities till 5pm on weekdays. Restaurants will provide dine in facilities with 50% occupancy. Busses can run provided only 50% of the total capacity is present. Construction activities can continue without any trouble. Auto and taxis can operate with a maximum of 2 people. The government will introduce fresh guidelines on July 5.
