On September 12, 4,857 students from Dakshina Kannada took the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate medical degrees at 10 locations across the state, all of which followed Covid-19 guidelines.

Even though the tests were delayed owing to the second wave of Covid-19, the majority of the students interviewed by the Times of India reported being nervous about taking the test because they had prepared online. Because offline NEET coaching was unavailable due to the pandemic.To enter Mangaluru, candidates from Kerala have to show proof of a negative RT-PCR test. In DK, there are 5005 candidates registered for NEET, 4,857 students present, and 148 students absent for the exam.
