The deputy commissioner of the Dakshina Kannada district has instructed that Eid Milad be observed modestly, following the Covid norms in effect in this area. Eid Milad processions in large groups have been prohibited. Any day or night lectures, as well as cultural programs or gatherings, held in Mohallas, should not have more than a hundred individuals in attendance. Safe distance and Covid protocol should be followed at mosques and dargahs, and sufficient care should be made to preserve social distance. The directive states that microphones, digital sound systems, and other similar devices should not be used in public areas.
Following Covid-related behavior, proper mass prayers can be offered. If there are a large number of individuals present, mass prayers might be offered in two or more batches. When giving namaz in mosques, a minimum of six feet between each other should be maintained. It is not authorized to shake hands or embrace. Mass prayers cannot be held in public venues other than mosques, according to the DC (auditoriums, community halls, Shadi Mahals, other open spaces).
