Santhosh Andrade, an artist based in Mangalore, held an exhibition of his works on Saturday, October 31, 2020. The exhibition was held at Kodial Guthu Center for Media, Art & Design and was inaugurated by architect Sharat Punja. It may come as a source of delight for all art lovers as the exhibition will now remain open till November 8, 2020 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Kodial Guthu Centre located near Ballalbagh, Mangalore.
Santhosh D. Andrade, who is the 2020 winner of ORA 2020, India’ s biggest art contest which was conducted by Mojarto in association with NDTV, was appreciated by the Punja for the thematic representation in his artwork.
For Andrade, urban landscapes of the ever -changing coastal town of Mangalore is a source of inspiration. A variety of recent works of art on canvas, terracotta and wood done by Andrade is showcased in the exhibition. On display are 40 of Andrade’s exceptional works.
Art Kanara Trust in collaboration with the Mangalore chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) were responsible for the conduction of this exhibition. The exhibition also has aid from S Cube Art Gallery. The inaugural function was presided over by Subhas Chandra Basu, the Chapter Head of Mangalore Chapter of INTACH while the introductory address was by Janardhan Havanje who is an artist and trustee of Art Kanara Trust.
Over the years, Santhosh Andrade has been a participant, nominee and winner of many art competitions and exhibitions. This includes being a nominee of the 53rd Annual Art Exhibitions organised by Birla Academy of Art & Culture as well as the 47th Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy. He also conducted his solo exhibition titled ‘Impressions of my Surroundings’ at Chennai in the past year.
