As the year is coming to a close and Christmas and the New year is drawing in, the state government has issued guidelines regarding the celebrations. The guidelines advice against shaking and hugging during this time so that one can avoid physical contact to reduce spread of the Corona virus.
The circular regarding the guidelines was issued by Karnataka Chief Secretary, T. M. Vijay Bhaskar. The guidelines inform the organisers to take steps that would minimize crowds in churches. People are not allowed to gather together in pubs, clubs, restaurants and similar spots without following social distancing norms.
Even on main roads and public places, gathering of people without following social distancing norms is prohibited. Normal activities can be continued in these places.
Selected roads and areas can be imposed further restrictions by police commissioners and deputy commissioners. Children below the age of 10 and people above 65 are advised to stay at home during this time. Compulsory usage of masks, sanitisers and thermal scanning in hotels, restaurants and other public places is mentioned in the guidelines. Nly green crackers are allowed.
