The new bridge connecting Adyar to Kannur directly on NH 75 from Harekala village of Ullal taluk is almost complete. However, it cannot be inaugurated due to the election code of conduct, prohibiting any activity that could influence voters. The local MLA, U T Khader, has instructed the concerned government officials to allow movement of vehicles, but the curing of the concrete on the bridge needs another two days, and an order from concerned staff has not yet arrived for the opening of the bridge. The bridge is 520 meters in length, 10 meters wide and 10.6 meters in height, costing Rs 195.50 crore. Once the bridge is open, it will shorten the journey of villagers of Harekala, Pavoor, Konaje, and Pajeer to Mangaluru city.
