On Wednesday, India’s daily COVID-19 cases increased by 45 %. In the last 24 hours, a total of 9,195 new cases have been recorded. On the other side, the country reported 6,358 COVID cases in a single day. As per data from the Union Health Ministry, the daily mortality rate from COVID infections has increased to be 302. The number of daily recoveries increased to 7,347, while the number of active cases increased to 1,546.
The total number of Covid cases in India has increased to 34,808,886 crores, with 77,002 active cases. A total of 3,42,51,292 people have recovered from the deadly infection to date, which is 98.40% of the total caseload. India’s daily positivity rate stands at 0.79% –less than 2% for the last 86 days. Cumulatively, more than 80% of Indian citizens have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine.
Omicron cases in India
The number of Omicrons in India has increased to 781, with 241 people now recovered. With 238, Delhi has the most COVID cases, followed by Maharashtra (167), and Gujarat (146). (73). Before the New Year’s celebrations, state governments have placed stricter restrictions. The Delhi government issued a “yellow alert” yesterday, resulting in a temporary lockdown throughout the capital. In addition, before the New Year’s celebrations, the Karnataka government imposed tight COVID restrictions.
