Karnataka reported the third case of the Omicron case yesterday, with a man arriving from South Africa testing positive for it. A 34-year-old man returning from South Africa tested positive. He has been isolated and is being treated in a government hospital. Five primary and fifteen secondary contacts have been identified, and samples have been sent for testing tweets the state’s health minister.
The Omicron variant was discovered in Bengaluru, with two people testing positive for it: a South African national of Indian origin and a doctor. With the addition of three new cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, the total number of cases in India now stands at 36. The state of Maharashtra had the highest number of infections with the most recent variant of the coronavirus. Cases have been reported in Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Punjab, and now Andhra Pradesh.
