The health Minister tweeted on Friday that the state has achieved another milestone in Covid vaccination by crossing 2.5 crore doses today. The last 50 lakh doses were administered in the last 17 days. Karnataka is the first state in the south and the 5th state in the country to achieve this. The vaccination drive was launched across the state on January 16.
The minister also stated that on Friday 2,60,654 beneficiaries, including 37,906 while recoveries rose to 27,93,498 with 3,045 patients discharged during the day.
As per the state health bulletin 2,52,07,840 people including senior citizens above the age of 45 years, Healthcare workers, Frontline workers and people in the age group of 18-44 years of age were all vaccinated in the last 6 months.
Hassan recorded 228 cases while Mysuru and Dakshina Kannada recorded 216 and 209 cases respectively. The state capital was the epicenter of the pandemic and reported on 472 fresh cases on Thursday. The total covid tally of Bengaluru is 12,18,493 including 13,596 active cases. The last 24 hour marked 814 recoveries.
The positivity rate declined to 1.48 per cent while the facility rate remained 2.96 percent on Thursday.
A total of 1,53,740 tests were conducted in a day of which 31,454 were through rapid antigen detection and 1,22,286 were conducted by RT-PCR.
