The announcement made by the Minister of Higher education stated that the Karnataka government is planning to start the next academic year from October 2021. The minister has proposed to conduct the semester end examinations to the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The government is planning for evening colleges in metro cities and are also looking to launch inter-disciplinary programmes in some colleges of Vishweshwaraya Technological Institutes
While announcing the schedule for college reopening it was specified that the students above 18 years must be vaccinated before the next academic year begins.
The Deputy Chief minister said that the VCs and college chiefs have a social responsibility. He added that they need to ensure that all the students above the age of 18 are vaccinated. He made it clear that academic work has to go on and we have to find a solution.
As a move towards making Karnataka a leading educational hub, the government will also launch a unified university management system in July.
