On Gandhi Jayanti, the India Today Healthgiri Awards 2021 was held in Delhi to honour the perseverance of the corona warriors who have spearheaded the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Karnataka won the award for best state for combating Covid-19. The award was collected by Dr. Sudhakar K, Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education. The Health Giri Awards 2020 are a resurrection of the India Today Safaigiri Awards, which are held every year on October 2.
The health minister addressed the gathering. He thanked India today for recognising Karnataka as the best combating state in fighting this pandemic. Dedicate this to all the health workers in Karnataka; doctors, nurses, paramedics, D group workers, and all the frontline workers, besides the cabinet colleagues and honourable chief minister. The success of combat in Karnataka is achieved by acting early, acting on time, and acting. Speed and velocity are the two tools that Karnataka has adapted and, similarly, test trace-track and technology have been the hallmark of Karnataka’s success story, besides vaccination. Every nation in this world has to win the pandemic and then only this pandemic will be out of humanity.
Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, and Aroon Purie, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, India Today Group, presented the India Today Healthgiri Awards.
