With the partial unlocking on Wednesday, June 23, KSRTC buses resumed service in the district after a long silence. Private buses, on the other hand, have not resumed service yet. However, the district administration’s new guidelines allowed buses to operate in the district on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m, but the president of the Dakshina Kannada District Bus Owners’ Association clearly denied it. He said, “We will not operate buses from June 23 to the month-end. If we do, we will have to pay tax for the whole month, which is difficult. “
Whereas today, there were just a few passengers at the KSRTC bus station, which is often bustling with activity. The absence of passengers might be due to a lack of knowledge about the availability of buses or a lack of connecting private buses to the city. However, as time passes, the bus stop is likely to revert to its previous state. The buses are operated in accordance with government standards for passenger capacity.
