Lockdown in Karnataka: Revenue Minister hints for strict restrictions from Jan 7

The Corona cases are on rise in karnataka. As per the revenue minister, the state is likely to face more restrictions in the coming days before the present night curfew expires on January 7. Concerns of a Karnataka lockdown have resurfaced, with the minister announcing that strict restrictions will be imposed from January 7.

As per the list declared by the Union government, The chief minister dropped hints of stricter curbs in the state. Karnataka on Saturday reported over 1,00 new COVID cases and 5 deaths, taking the positivity rate to 0.86%. The Omicron tally for the state was 64.

In India, there was a single-day rise of 27,553 new coronavirus cases while the Omicron infection tally reached 1,525. The first cases of that in India were found in Karnataka. Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal have imposed strict restrictions. Scientists have projected that the third wave of the pandemic has already hit the country and that the peak will be witnessed in January or February.
