In light of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Union Home Ministry issued orders to the States and Union Territories on August 10 to take all essential precautions when planning Independence Day festivities on August 15. During the Independence Day festivities, it would be important to properly distribute and broadcast them among the public through different activities/messages at the events and on social media. As per a letter from the Home Ministry to the relevant authorities.
The Ministry addressed that Independence Day will be commemorated in a way befitting the event, but that precautions such as social distance, masking, appropriate sanitization, safeguarding vulnerable people, and following the Health Ministry’s instructions would be required. All programs should be planned in such a way that huge crowds are avoided and technology is utilized to its full potential. The events might be streamed live on the internet.
The Prime Minister will be presented with the Guard of Honour by the Armed Forces and the Delhi Police at Red Fort in Delhi. The ceremony will also include the unfurling of the National Flag, the playing of the National Anthem, and the firing of the 21-gun salute by Air Force helicopters, as well as the Prime Minister’s speech, singing of the National Anthem, and the release of tri-collars.
