The Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC), cautioned that traders who disobey the district administration’s orders to stop the spread of coronavirus infection will face severe consequences. They also shared this information with the zilla panchayat chief executive officer, district health officer, taluk medical officers, panchayat development officers, and village assistants at a video conversation on covid19 control measures on Friday, September 3.
He mentioned that the district had weekend and night curfews in place. Those who disobey the rules and open their stores will face legal consequences. Even the general population must adhere to rules and regulations. Everybody entering a private hospital with a cold, cough, or fever is subjected to Covid tests without fail. They should be admitted to the Covid care centres if the infection is confirmed, and their key contacts should be identified. He noted that if a family has more than two affected members, it should be turned into a micro containment zone.
The DC requested that everyone above the age of 18 be vaccinated. Vaccines should be given on the same day they are received. Covid tests should be conducted over 15,000 times every day. Those in home quarantine should be monitored by anganwadi, ASHA workers, and panchayat development officers. Medical officers should make house calls to ensure that the instructions are being followed. Infected people should be admitted to treatment centres if they develop more health problems. He clarified the situation.
