The first faculty firm at NITK Surathkal developed a prototype for an anti-drone radar system. It can identify micro-drones from up to 2,000 meters away. The startup Sri Shasha Pragathi Technologies Private Limited was founded by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Park (NITK-STEP) in February 2020.
Pattipati Yeswanth and Pathipati Srihari are the CEO and director of the company. The startup is developing radar systems for various applications like battlefield surveillance, up to 5000m, and other defense and civilian applications.
The company will also take part in the Defense India Startup Challenge and provide engineering students training, skill development, and internship opportunities. It was also a part of the Mathworks Incubator and Accelerator program. In 2018, NITK Surathkal enabled faculty startups.
