On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Nitte Day Care Clinic planned a “Walkathon 2022” on November 13th, 2022, at 7.30 a.m. Starting from Nitte Day Care Clinic, the walkathon travelled through Kankanady Circle, Bendoorwell, Collectors Gate, SCS Hospital, and back to Nitte Day Care Clinic.
This Nitte Walkathon was flagged off by Mr. Dinesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mangalore City; Mr. Pa Hegde, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City; Ms. Geetha Kulakarni, ACP Traffic Division, Mangalore City; Prof. Dr. Shatharam Shetty, Pro-chancellor (NITTE DU); and Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor (NITTE DU).
There was Dr. Vikram Shetty, HOD of Orthopaedics; Dr. Surendra Rao, HOD of General Medicine; and Dr. SriKrishna V Acharya, HOD of Endocrinology.
More than 500 individuals participated in the Nitte Walkathon 2022, which was organised to raise awareness of diabetes and promote healthy lifestyles. Participants included faculty, staff, students, and members of the general public.
In honour of World Diabetes Day, Nitte Day Care Clinic has organised a health package at a discounted price and a diabetic-friendly food exhibition with 25 recipes in collaboration with Nitte Institute of Hospitality Services on November 13 and 14, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Furthermore, approximately 25 patients had used the available packages on that day.
