Over 37 lakh doses of vaccine have been administered

With more than 37 lakh doses of vaccinations administered in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts until Thursday, the region’s completely immunized population surpassed 34%. This comes at a time when the nation has given out over 100 crore vaccine shots. As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Co-Win dashboard, 23,09,823 persons were vaccinated in Dakshina Kannada as of 6 p.m. on Thursday.

34.08 percent (7,87,167) were completely vaccinated, whereas 65.92 percent (15,22,656) were partially vaccinated (first dose). Women have a 50.18 percent (11,58,542) share of the vote, while males have a 49.82 percent share (11,50,750). In Dakshina Kannada, immunization is provided at 100 venues, 87 government and 13 private, as per the webpage.

As per the ministry, 34.91 percent of the 14,06,175 people who have been vaccinated in Udupi have received a complete vaccination (4,90,857). Furthermore, 65.09 percent (9,15,318) of those who have been partially vaccinated. The proportion of women who have been vaccinated is 52.32 (7,35,521), whereas the percentage of males who have been vaccinated is 47.68. (6,70,467).

Meanwhile, the district administrations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi held Vaccination Melas across the two districts on Friday. Vaccines will be distributed at 73 locations across the Udupi, Kundapur, and Karkala taluks, as per the Udupi District Health and Family Welfare Officer.

Vaccines will be delivered at around 400 locations, as per the Dakshina Kannada District Health and Family Welfare Officer. Both first and second dosages of Covaxin and Covishield are available. The administration has set a target of delivering 1.20 lakh doses of vaccination on Friday, as per Dakshina Kannada, Deputy Commissioner.

Mangaluru taluk is responsible for 65,000-67,000 dosages, Bantwal for 15,000, Belthangady for 18,000, Puttur for 14,000, and Sullia for 6,000. He requested that authorities from the Department of Health deliver the second dosage of the vaccination to individuals who are eligible first. The Deputy Commissioner also requested that ASHAs go around to people’s homes and encourage them to get both the first and second doses of the vaccination.
