While images of the beautiful Hawaii islands may flash through your mind when trying to picture these scenes, these are some of the beautiful views that you will experience at Panambur beach, located about 10 km from the city of Mangalore. A place to experience a little peace of mind without much travelling, this is just the place for you.

Known for its cleanliness and safety, the Panambur beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Mangalore city. The beach is also known for its beautiful sunsets that can even bring your dreams to life. The carnivals and festivals organized by district authorities as a part of the “Karavali Utsav”, that light up the beach are enough to lift up your spirits. The festivities include dance and singing competitions, boat races, beach sports and sand sculpture contests.

The kite festival, organized every year, attracts  participants from across the country. During the International Kite Festival held every 2 years here at Panambur Beach Mangalore, teams from all across the country as well as various countries such as England, France, Netherlands, Germany, Kuwait, Thailand, Australia, Singapore and Turkey have actively participated in the past.

What makes this beach different and unique is that it is completely run and maintained by a private enterprise, the Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project to ensure that the beach is maintained, clean and safe. This initiative of the enterprise has managed to retain the beauty of the beach due to its efforts.

Some of the experiences one can have at the beach include horse and camel ride, night camping, adventure activities like ATV rides, parasailing, jet ski rides and surfing. One can also enjoy a variety of cuisines at the restaurants near the beach. Almost 20 well trained lifeguards stationed by the shore around the clock confirms the claims of the beach being one of the safest beaches in India.

Spend a day idle, watching the sunset, the cool wind tickling you, let the droplets wet your cheeks… make some time for yourself and let your mind breathe.
