The Emirates-operated Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world, made a historic touchdown at the airport’s brand-new terminal in Bangalore on October 14, 2022. Pilot Sandeep Prabhu of Udupi conducted this successful test flight.
Sandeep has been a pilot for the past 15 years and is the second son of Aleooru Aarathi Prabhu and Shivaraya Prabhu. He had his initial training as a pilot in the Philippines and his advanced training in France. Later, he became a pilot with the Dubai-based airline Emirates.
He had successfully flown the same plane earlier and had landed in Mumbai. Sandeep Prabhu shocked the passengers onboard by speaking to them in Kannada when the plane touched down in Bangalore.
The Bangalore airport’s second terminal has been dedicated to the world, with flights to 30 nations scheduled. Here, Emirates will begin operating daily Airbus A380 flights between Bangalore and Dubai from October 30.
Sandeep Prabhu, a pilot who’s residing in Dubai, will make Bangalore his second home.
