In districts with less than a 2% positivity rate, the Karnataka government stated on Monday that students in classes 9 to 10 can start with half-day classes. As per the Technical Advisory Committee, this will be for government/aided/unaided schools. The classes will begin from 23 August starting at 10 am – 1.30 pm on weekdays. On Saturday, the timings will be from 10 am – 12.50 pm.

The reopening of schools for students in grades 1 to 8 will be decided later. It is instructed to offer lessons for 1 to 10 in alternate ways in districts where the positive rate is above 2%. It is instructed to conduct classes by making a group of 15-20 students (for 9 and 10 students) in each group to maintain physical distance stated by the state government.
