As per a report released by the Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University on August 4, the university is preparing to adopt an online examination method if the COVID-19 scenario warrants it.
Following an order from the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, the institution was obliged to postpone its odd-semester undergraduate and post-graduate examinations for the academic year 2020-21, they reported to the Academic Council. The post-graduate exams were set to begin on August 5, while the undergraduate exams were set to begin on August 5 examinations began on August 2. If COVID-19 and the attendance limitations continue, the institution will consider giving tests online, as several states have done. The needed software was built by a Pune-based agency, as per the Deputy Commissioner.
The institution is also preparing to implement a computerized evaluation system, as per the chief minister, and bids have been solicited for the project. CM informed the council that the institution would implement a single policy that would allow it to provide certificate and diploma programs in a variety of fields. At the moment, each discipline has its own set of rules, which are dispersed. He claimed that the institution had received a B rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during the second assessment cycle, and that the university had disputed the data verification validation procedure before the council, but that it had been unsuccessful. It will now opt for re-accreditation, as per the process.
