Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy to take the initiation of inclusion of Tulu language in the Unicode Mapping List as per the directions issued by Minister of Forest Arvind Limbavali Kannada, and Culture. After rounds of discussion of framing the Tulu script, the academy has accepted the script and the same was recommended for Unicode Consortium by the committee of language experts lead by the Central Institute of Indian Languages in Mysuru.
The minister his views on being a part of the celebration when the Tulu language officially gets included in the Unicode Map. He further expressed that the government, like any other language in the State, will constantly nurture and promote the Tulu language and culture. The efforts of inclusion of Tulu language will be fruitful once the script gets used in prints, publicity materials, and various digital platforms.
