So far Alva’s has 7 Olympians since it’s inception including Dhanalaxmi and Shubha. They are studying at Alva’s Education Foundation through the sports quota adoption plan, have been chosen to compete in the Olympics tournament in Tokyo, which begins on July 23. They both will compete in the 4×400 meters mixed relay for India..
The participants have been students of Alva’s foundation since the academic year 2017, as Dr. M Mohan Alva addressed during a news conference here on Wednesday, July 14. Dhanalaxmi and Shubha have represented Mangalore University in inter-university tournaments around India, bringing honor to the educational institution and the state. They’ve also represented India in several international sporting events, flying the country’s flag proudly. They are both from the Tamil Nadu city of Trichy. Many of Alva’s sports pupils have excelled in Olympic competitions. Dhanalaxmi and Shubha shall receive a one-lakh-rupee incentive for each.
