Between February 10 and March 6, the uroos of Ullal’s Sayyid Muhammed Shareeful Madani Dargah will be held. Uroos is a Sufi saint’s death anniversary celebration conducted at the saint’s dargah (shrine or tomb). The uroos are held every five years. On December 23, 2021, it was supposed to begin. At the request of the district government, the dargah postponed the event due to an upsurge in COVID-19 cases.
All people are expected to follow the rule of wearing face masks and maintaining social distance. A health check-up facility will be available at the dargah. Religious leaders from other communities will also take part.
The dargah was expecting donations to run the kitchen and organize other facilities for devotees. The event will be attended by Karnataka Chief Minister, Dakshina Kannada district In-charge Minister, Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel, and other dignitaries.
