In association with Decathlon and Panambur Beach, Moms of Mangalore organised a women’s day out, along with a beach cleaning drive, at the Panambur Beach on Sunday.
The only objective was to create awareness among people to keep beaches clean, safeguard the environment, and inculcate the habit of respecting the coastline, which nurtures marine biodiversity.
Participants removed waste and non-biodegradable materials littered on the beach. Huge amounts of trash in the form of gutkha packets, beer bottles, ice cream cups and chips packets were collected by the participants. All the participants were provided with trash bags and protective gloves to undertake the drive. The collected waste was handed over to the MCC for disposal.
Dr Shilpa Shreyas and Dr Shwetha Kamath led the initiative, along with Preethika from Decathlon. The drive ended with laughter yoga, fun contests, a lucky draw, and a power-packed energetic Zumba.
